Patek Philippe adds another refined chapter to its storied calendar watch lineage with the introduction of the Reference 4946R, a new Annual Calendar model in rose gold. Building on the success of the 2021 steel-cased 4947/1A-001, this latest release retains the accessible 38mm diameter—an unassuming size that balances presence and wearability. The warm rose gold case frames a chestnut dial with a unique double satin-brushed finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk and offering a subtle interplay of light and depth.
Applied Arabic numerals and leaf-shaped hands, both in rose gold with luminescent coating, provide a clear reading of time against the rich brown backdrop. The annual calendar layout remains intuitive: day and month subdials are symmetrically placed, while the date appears in a framed aperture at 6 o’clock. The moon-phase display adds a poetic dimension and features long-term precision, deviating just one day every 122 years. Powering this sophisticated mechanism is the self-winding Caliber 26-330 S QA LU, visible through the sapphire caseback and showcasing Patek Philippe’s hallmark finishing.
Complementing the dial is a chestnut calfskin strap with a denim-inspired pattern and cream contrast stitching, fastened with a rose gold prong buckle. As with all of Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar watches—an innovation first patented in 1996—the 4946R requires only one adjustment per year.
