The Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon marks the return of a icon—this time in a cool, horizon-blue dial. Once a limited Série Atelier piece, the Classic Auto now secures its place in the permanent collection, unveiled for Watches and Wonders 2025. Encased in a stainless steel 40mm case inspired by 19th-century pocket watches, its flowing, pebble-like silhouette is timeless, while the new dial adds a serene and contemporary twist to the classic design.
The Classic Auto Horizon is powered by the LF270.01 calibre—a self-winding movement with a micro-rotor, originally designed for the brand’s sportier pieces. It brings together everyday practicality, thanks to its 72-hour power reserve and date function, with haute horlogerie finishing that speaks to Laurent Ferrier’s roots. With an oscillating weight in 950 platinum and over 139 manual finishing operations, this movement is as technically impressive as it is visually captivating.
The dial is in translucent blue lacquer, vertically brushed center, and snailed small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock conjure a sense of calm precision. The white gold Assegai hands and drop indices anchor the design in tradition, while the bold date aperture—framed in dark blue—adds a touch of assertive modernity.
With its seamless blend of motor sport spirit and classical watchmaking elegance, the Classic Auto Horizon is a watch that looks forward without losing sight of where it came from. It’s the kind of piece that quietly commands attention—and rewards those who pay close enough attention to the details.
