Originally designed in 1978 by Henri d’Origny, the Hermès ARCEAU elegantly blends simplicity and creativity. This Arceau Petite Lune, inspired by the brand’s equestrian heritage, features a steel case, asymmetrical lugs, and a diamond-encrusted bezel showcasing 70 sparkling diamonds set to enhance their brilliance.
The dial, evocative of a star-filled night sky, is made from textured mother-of-pearl with varying shades of blue lacquer, producing an enchanting chiaroscuro effect. It highlights a radiant moon and a constellation of seven diamonds, adding to its celestial allure. Delicate leaf-shaped hands glide over this starry backdrop, powered by the precise Hermès H1837 movement. This mechanism not only drives the time and moon-phase functions but is also beautifully showcased through the sapphire crystal case back, revealing detailed finishes and the distinctive ‘sprinkling of Hs’ motif. Complementing the Arceau Petite Lune’s deep, rich hues is a sapphire-blue alligator strap, a testament to Hermès’ expertise in saddlery and leatherwork.
